Zed: Egypt has a voice!
Zed is born...
Zed is born...
el Zero issue is out n' about...
it's being distributed,
Seek it in a cafe near you.
Zed is a new youth social magazine that covers the life of modern Egyptians, it's first issue titled "el Zero" is due to hit the cafés scene sometime during this week…
Zed stands for the ethics which Egyptians live by, the topics that matter to them & their opinion on what takes place around him.
One of the main principles of the magazine is the positive role of the individual in the empowerment of both, society and community, the magazine will help promote and direct that role by providing channels of action.
The notion of spirituality is another crucial theme of the magazine, as it is viewed as one of the essentials of a healthy human life, and one of the distinguishing landmarks of eastern communities.
Zed's concept:
Presenting Egypt, it's youth, society & life in general, in a decent, moral & moderate way in a neatly appealing & free magazine
Whereas "free" here stands for: free of charge & freedom of speech.
Here is an exempt from the editor's letter of the Zero issue:
"Life is our oyster, Up the roller coaster, & down the drain,
Walking the savage garden… Trotting the halls of fame… & shame!
The children of the millennia, Alienated and alienating, Up to date and data based, Multitasking, USB enabled & hot-wired…
Fearless, tireless & wireless!
And we are having the time of our lives, Drinking as it comes, & the best is yet to come…
Ummmmm! (What was I writing this for?!)
Ahhh! Yeah! So we are riding the roller coaster of a lifetime, literally, but as we are riding it, a lot of us lose track. We lose track of where we are coming from, what is going on in the ride, and sometimes even of where we are going!
And zat is why zis Zed exzists. To remind us of who we are, where we are going, and where we come from…"
We have launched a beta version of the website, where you can download a PDF version of "el Zero", and download the form of the next issue's survey.
Start publicizing the mag. And enjoy the ride

ZARA Egypt: Where shopping ends Blood!!!
ZARA, the globally renowned clothing brand and known address for fashion seekers, revealed a much darker side of their "corporate ethics", in response to one shopper's injury in one of their stores in Egypt.
On Friday 26 August 2011, Maha Fouad was injured in a ZARA store located in Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. Maha suffered a severe injury in her forehand, which was caused by a broken mirror in one of the store's fitting rooms.
ZARA didn't offer the expected apology or compensation to Maha who had to postpone her wedding because of the injury and who will have to undergo aesthetic surgery, to hide the scars the injury left on her hand.
Of course

Fakebook Fiasco!
Finally, and after much anticipation, facebook management decided to disable my account! www.facebook.com/soberhigh is no where to be found on facebook!
I can not claim that I did not expect that, actually Ive been expecting it for quite some time now, it took facebook (henceforth referred to as fakebook throughout this article) longer than I expected to ban me!!!
But you know what they say, better late than never!!!
I was starting to wonder actually
and a doubtful unpleasant idea started creeping into my mind: Wow, I wasnt banned so far? Well maybe its a free site after all!!!
